Central American Adventure May 20

We went to an amazing place called La Paz Waterfall Gardens, appropriately named for the five huge, beautiful waterfalls that line a hiking trail.

At this park there is also bird, butterfly, reptile, frog, and wild cat habitat. The puma (Yay, Go Cougars!) jumped about 6 feet from a log down to the ground and did not make a sound when it landed. Pretty freaky!!

That evening we stayed at an old research station for volcano Arenal. We could hear the volcano erupting all night. This picture was taken while standing on our back balcony. The volcano covered the entire horizon and towered over the hotel. When the volcano was erupting, huge molten rocks would fly through the air, remaining air borne for up to 10 seconds at a time.
